  • I completely disagree with you, sbenven. I think this book is likely to be a vent for her, as well as something she wants her young children to be able to understand some day.

  • I believe that there is something wrong with how the brain works in a serial killer, a rapist, a psychotic, an Anders Breivik or a Jeffrey Dahmer. So tell me this. If in our future, it is proved that there is a genetic defect that creates that, and you are told that your fetus has that defect ...

  • Yes it is. Now, if we could only develop a test on a fetus that would tell us who will grow up to be a murderer or a rapist. Then we might see some real "engineering". Tell me ... if that occurs in the future, would you become pro-choice?

  • While I know a great many people who are pro-choice, I don't know a single person who would choose to abort a child based on its sex. Yes, I can imagine there might be a few out there who would do so. But this is not going to become a huge issue, and it's not worth spinning wheels worrying about.

  • There is no way to bring peace to the Middle East without education, and at this point America's own education is falling behind. I deplore the idea of leaving Afghanistan to the Taliban, because religious screwballs, even in the US, are always the most dangerous.

  • Okay, so we're only in our mid-60's, but my hubby & I have sex between 4 and 7 times every week unless one of us is ill (which is seldom). And we have, for many years (NO, he doesn't use Viagara, but then we don't use pharmaceuticals of any kind).
